Connect Unit4 ERPx to Watchdog - Watchdog Help Center

Connect Unit4 to retrieve supplier invoices and documents in Watchdog. Watchdog does not change, post, or pay invoices in Unit4.

Before you begin

Ask your Unit4 administrator or Unit4 to prepare API access for your environment. Watchdog’s connection uses Unit4 WebAPI. You will need:

Detail	What to enter
API Base URL	The WebAPI root, such as `https://.../webapi`
Token URL	The Unit4 Identity Services token address for your environment
Client ID	The client ID for the integration
Client Secret	The secret belonging to that client ID
Scope	The scope confirmed by Unit4 for your environment; Watchdog uses `u4bw` if the field is empty

Connect in Watchdog

Open Integrations → Unit4 ERPx and add a connection.
Enter the details from your administrator or Unit4.
Select Test Connection, then save the connection.
Optionally select companies and suppliers under Settings. Without a company filter, Watchdog retrieves invoices from all companies the client can access.

For the Unit4 administrator

Watchdog uses OAuth2 with client_credentials and the WebAPI v1 Object API. The client needs read access to:

companies and suppliers
supplier transactions
the document archive and document content

Confirm the API address, token address, and scope for this specific environment. Use u4erp instead of u4bw only if Unit4 confirms it is correct for the connection. Agree with Unit4 who creates the client and how company access is assigned. See Unit4’s description of Identity Services for authentication between systems.

If invoices or documents are missing

The test checks a sample of transactions and documents. A warning about a missing document does not necessarily mean sign-in failed. If documents are repeatedly missing, ask your administrator to check access to document content as well as transactions.
