Connect Fortnox by signing in to Fortnox and approving access. You do not need to copy API keys.

Before you begin

You must be an organization admin in Watchdog. A system administrator for the Fortnox company must approve the connection. The company also needs the licenses for supplier invoices, suppliers, and documents. Create one Watchdog connection per Fortnox company. Fortnox allows one service account per app and company.

Connect in Watchdog

  1. Open Integrations → Fortnox and select Add connection.
  2. Name the connection and select Connect Fortnox.
  3. Sign in to Fortnox as a system administrator, select the correct company, and approve access.
  4. When you return to Watchdog, open Settings and select Test Connection.
  5. Optionally select suppliers. Enable automatic synchronization once the test succeeds.

For the Fortnox administrator

Watchdog requests these scopes:
Fortnox grants both read and write access through these scopes. Watchdog uses them to retrieve information and documents; it does not change, post, or pay invoices in Fortnox.
See Fortnox’s permissions and licenses guide.

Import older invoices

Watchdog needs a readable PDF or XML document to process an invoice. Automatic synchronization checks an overlapping 31-day period based on invoice date. Changes to older invoices may therefore not be imported automatically. Run a manual synchronization covering the invoice date to import or recheck older invoices.

If access needs to be approved again

Open Settings → Reconnect Fortnox if access has been revoked or permissions have changed. Select the same Fortnox company. Create a new connection to connect a different company. If the test finds invoices but no documents, check that the invoices have PDF or XML attachments and that connectfile and archive access was granted. If the test finds no invoices, check the company selection; the test checks a sample only.
