# Connect Tripletex to Watchdog

> Connect Tripletex to Watchdog and grant access to invoices and documents.

Connect Tripletex to Watchdog with an API user key for your company.

## Before you begin

A Tripletex user administrator must create the key. It belongs to an employee or contact with access to the company and cannot grant more access than that user has.

## Connect in Watchdog

1. Obtain the API user key from the administrator following the setup below.
2. Open **Integrations → Tripletex** and add a connection.
3. Paste the user key.
4. Select **Test Connection**, then save the connection.

## For the Tripletex administrator

1. Go to **Payroll → Employees** or **Customer → Contacts** and select the user the key will belong to.

2. Open **API Access** and select **New key**.

3. Select **Custom setup** and assign the required permissions.

4. Enter this exact value in **Application name**:

   ```text theme={null}
   LCO3_AIFactory
   ```

5. Give the key a name, such as “Watchdog”, and select **Create key**.

6. Copy the user key into Watchdog.

<Warning>The user key is shown only once. Keep it before closing the dialog.</Warning>

Watchdog needs access to supplier invoices, suppliers, and invoice documents. The integration can also register for change notifications in Tripletex so invoices can be updated in Watchdog. It does not change the invoices themselves in Tripletex.

See [Tripletex's API user-key guide](https://hjelp.tripletex.no/hc/no/articles/16600381679249-Hvordan-oppretter-jeg-en-API-brukern%C3%B8kkel) for setup and permissions.

## If access is missing

Check both the key's permissions and those of the user it belongs to. Ask your administrator for help if **API Access** is not visible.
