# Connect e-conomic to Watchdog

> Connect e-conomic to Watchdog and grant access to invoices and documents.

Connect e-conomic to retrieve booked supplier invoices with PDF attachments in Watchdog. Watchdog does not change, post, or pay entries in e-conomic.

## Before you begin

Find the `Agreement Number` of the accounting agreement you want to connect. The person approving access in e-conomic must have access to this agreement.

## Connect in Watchdog

1. Open **Integrations → e-conomic**, create a connection, and enter its name and agreement number.
2. Select **Connect e-conomic**.
3. Sign in to e-conomic and grant Watchdog access to the correct accounting agreement.
4. Watchdog tests and saves the connection automatically, then returns you to **Settings**.

You do not need to copy a token or save again. Complete authorization within ten minutes or start again. If the test fails, the connection is not saved.

<Warning>
  Check that the agreement number belongs to the agreement you authorize. Watchdog cannot verify
  this automatically with the permission the integration uses. The number cannot be changed after
  saving.
</Warning>

## For the e-conomic administrator

Watchdog requests `Bookkeeping` access to read booked entries, accounting years, documents, and suppliers. `SuperUser` is not required.

If you administer multiple accounting agreements, first select **Administer** on the correct agreement in e-conomic before authorizing Watchdog.

See e-conomic's [permissions overview](https://www.e-conomic.com/developer/permissions) and [app connection guide](https://www.e-conomic.com/developer/connect).

### Enter a token manually

If you use **Enter token manually**, obtain Watchdog's installation link from support. Authorize access through the link, then paste the `Agreement Grant Token` and the correct agreement number into Watchdog. This form is also used when authorization directly from Watchdog is unavailable.

## Select suppliers and import older invoices

After testing the connection, you can include or exclude suppliers under **Settings**. Without a supplier filter, all eligible suppliers in the accounting agreement are included.

Entries without PDF attachments are skipped. Automatic synchronization rechecks a recent period. If a PDF is added to an older entry, run a manual synchronization for that period.

## Reconnect

Use **Settings → Reconnect e-conomic** to renew access. Wait for an active synchronization to finish or cancel it first. Save or discard unsaved settings.

Authorize the same accounting agreement. Watchdog tests and saves the new access automatically. If the test fails, existing access is retained. Create a new connection for a different agreement.

A warning that the test found no invoices or PDFs does not necessarily mean sign-in failed. Check that the agreement contains booked supplier invoices with PDF attachments.
