# Connect Compello to Watchdog

> Connect Compello to Watchdog and grant access to invoices and documents.

Connect Compello InvoiceApproval to retrieve invoices and documents in Watchdog. Watchdog does not change documents in Compello.

## Before you begin

Ask your Compello administrator to prepare an integration user. You will need:

* the username and password
* the `Customer ID` used to sign in to Compello
* the `ClientId` for the client whose invoices you want to import

## Connect in Watchdog

1. Open **Integrations → Compello** and add a connection.
2. Enter the details from your administrator.
3. Select **Test Connection**, then save the connection.

Each connection covers one `ClientId`. Create another connection to import invoices from a different client.

## For the Compello administrator

The integration user needs access to read the InvoiceApproval worklist and download documents. Watchdog uses `FetchWorkList`, `FetchDocument`, and `FetchDocumentImages` in the Integration API.

Watchdog does not archive, reactivate, or distribute documents in Compello.

## If the connection does not work

Check that the username, password, and `Customer ID` belong together, and that the user can access the selected `ClientId` and its documents. Ask your Compello administrator or Compello for help with your environment's permissions.
